Whiskyspace Notes 1958

Much more presence than with the Lawson's, and it’s definitely not uninteresting. The first sip hits you with a solid malty backbone, then some slightly chemical notes start to creep in, almost like a faint laboratory vibe. There’s a touch of white wine acidity that brightens it up, but it’s also quite cardboardy and a bit burnt – I can taste burnt herbs on the finish. Overall a curious mix, a little odd but strangely enjoyable 🥃.

Hmm, bit of a mixed bag this one. Malty start, then there's this weird burnt herb thing going on. Almost like white wine mixed with a hint of paraffin? And yeah, a bit cardboardy at the end. But it's got more presence than that other one, at least. 🤷‍♂️

Nosing this one, you get a bit of white wine and some slightly chemical notes upfront, which is a little off-putting. On the palate, there’s a touch of something burnt, like hints of burnt herbs. Some parts are okayish, but others are really quite cardboardy. It has much more presence than with the Lawson’s, though. The finish is medium long, with a little paraffin coming through. Not uninteresting, but it’s no collector’s bottle. 🥃

Not sure about this one... got a whiff of something a little paraffin mixed with like a dry white wine. Interesting combo. Not uninteresting, though. Some sips are quite cardboardy upfront, but then there's these hints of burnt herbs, a bit like dried rosemary left on the grill too long. Slightly burnt character throughout. The malty backbone is there, gives it more presence than with the Lawson's we had last week. Some parts are okayish, a bit rough around the edges but kinda grows on you. 🤔
