🥃 Blimey, this is a proper oddball. Typical young fruity Speysidr first, apples pop up right off the bat, then that raw maltiness and grains kick in, a little peppery zing, a touch of ginger, touches of coffee too. It’s rather sherried but still has that barley water freshness, plus a chalky side I swear I taste a hint of Muscadet? Refill hogshead cask so it’s super pale, like very pale white wine, exactly that vibe of very young malt whiskies, full of orchard fruits all the way. Distillate is fine, just kind of immature, very young, totally opposite of the usual Strathislas I’m used to. Finish is rather long, Mother Nature!
