Ugh, proper good dram last night 🥃 It’s oaky and spicy upfront first, loads of wheat bran and rye bread notes, even a tiny hint of little mustard tucked in there, plus a touch of bitter old walnuts? Feels a little sweet at first then goes super very dry, proper austere, like that salty old fino mixed with fresh-sawn hardwood? There’s liquorice, vanilla, even a bit of meaty tarry beef jerky thing going on? Finish is rather long too, loads of husk and a bit of sawdust lingering, proper deep and rich if you’re into that rather austere style, not the sweet easy drinking one mind 😂

First sip hits quite deep and sweet, like diving into something dark and rich. Then that tarry note comes through - not harsh, but a bit like a very old, well-oiled wooden ship. Get a lot of oak, obviously. Not just any oak, but really seasoned stuff, with vanilla pods tucked in the grain. There's a grassy, wheaty husk note underneath, like standing in a field after harvest. Surprisingly long finish. It starts spicy, then mellows into this dry, almost austere warmth that just stays. Really grow on you. 🔥

Ooh, this one’s a proper little perfume bomb, innit? 🌹 First whiff hits like a posh carpenter’s shed—fresh oak shavings mixed with a sprig of rosemary and that weirdly comforting barbecue herbs vibe. Then comes the gewürztraminer sweetness, like someone’s left a glass of peach-leaf tea in the sun too long. The body’s got this lovely firm-but-easy hug, like a well-worn leather armchair. Sweet and spicy at first, molasses and vanilla doing a little dance, but then—oh blimey—that slightly sour fudgy note creeps in, like a dodgy custard cream left in the biscuit tin. Coconut and bitter chocolate try to save it, but the cardboard in the aftertaste’s a bit of a wet blanket. Still, it’s got character, this one. Not complicated, just a bit… messy. Like a bloke who’s had one too many at the Christmas party but you can’t help but like him anyway. Peppermint and thyme on the finish, which is surprisingly long for something so cheeky.

Gave this one a proper go last night. Right away you get this oaky and spicy hit, almost like sticking your nose into a pile of fresh-sawn hardwood. Quite punchy at first, not gonna lie. Bit of vanilla hiding underneath, but it's mostly that woody, sawdust sort of character. Feels a bit austere to be honest, not the friendliest dram straight off. Reminds me of rye bread crust somehow, and there's this subtle beef jerky note going on which is kinda weird but interesting? Touches of liquorice and a little mustard warmth creep in as it opens up. Some bitter old walnuts there too, especially towards the end. A bit grassy as well, like cuttings left in the sun. There's a faint sweetness that eventually comes through, almost like gold syrup if that makes sense, but the overall vibe is meaty and tarry with loads of bran and husk character. Very savoury dram this one. Not everyone's cuppa, but if you like something with a bit of backbone, it's worth a punt 🥃

Aye, this one's proper lush. Starts with a wee burst of citrus and green apple 🍎, then gets all toasty and oak-like. A hint of smoke lingers at the end. Quite warming, innit? 😊 Lovley stuff.
